27 Mar How to be healthy
Good health is essential. Without it, we simply cannot function well in our daily lives.
According to the World Health Organisation’s World Report on Ageing and Health, while we may be living longer, older individuals are not necessarily living healthier, or more active lives. At BSSC, we recognise the fundamental need for preventative care. We know that by taking care of our community, we are facilitating the cause to procure a healthier ageing population.
Good health starts with you, and it starts with your local primary health care providers – us!
Your body is an incredible machine. It produces responses and reactions that you aren’t even aware of just to keep you standing up, breathing and digesting.
A healthy human brain has about 200 billion neurons which talk to areas of your body via trillions of connections called synapses. Every day, you put your body and brain under pressure via actions and stressors (physical, chemical and emotional). In this day and age, of course you’re going to need a little help to maintain things.
That’s the easy part. You don’t have to do a thing.
The tricky part is knowing when to seek some assistance. Because your body is so clever and so adaptable, it can compensate for injuries and illnesses before you notice anything is wrong. That’s where we come in.
Our team of highly skilled practitioners are here to lend a hand and keep you functioning well so you can enjoy your life to your fullest capacity. Facilitating healing and recovery, we provide comprehensive, continuous and person-centred care in every stage of life.
Now, we all know that movement feeds the brain, right? Right. That’s why we have our own onsite gym and pilates studio to ensure that we can teach movement properly. We love encouraging older members of the community to step out and get involved with their peers in the group setting our gym and exercise classes afford.
It can be daunting and inconvenient to travel around to different appointments. And don’t get us started on trying to keep channels of communication between practitioners open and fluid!
With all our services provided on site, we can offer all your needs under one roof and ensure that your team of practitioners work together, with you at the centre. Whether you need a GP, neurologist, dietitian or a psychologist, we have you covered.
Not sure if you need an exercise physiologist or someone from our two teams of physios and osteos? Or perhaps a Myotherapist? Don’t worry, they all work collaboratively, so no matter where you start, your journey to better health still begins with us, your local primary healthcare providers.
Don’t wait to start taking care of yourself and your family, start now. Call us or make a booking online.
